Parents sue Portuguese Youtuber for posting dashcam video of teen's death to Youtube Compilation

Early this morning, the popular Youtuber "Crashcarfunny88" (8 million subscribers) was taken to court by the parents of a teenager (36 subscribers) after the popular Youtuber posted a video of a car crash featuring the parents' child.

The video in question features the tragic death of Paul Jesus Molling (Yes, that's his actual name) as he loses control of a Cherrier Vivace S 270 when the car's traction and stability control system failed as he was speeding on the highway. Paul was said to be speeding in the rented car while on his vacation in Italy.

After an Italian truck driver witnessed the crash, he handed the footage which he caught on a dash cam to authorities where it was released publicly as part of the court hearing with Paul's friend who was also in the car at the time, but survived.

The video was reuploaded to Youtube last month in a "crash compilation", and quickly gained hundreds of thousands of views. The Youtuber was asked repeatedly by the parents of Paul Jesus to take down the video, but it was never removed from the website. The parents are now suing the Youtuber who turned out to be a Portuguese 12-year old who edited the videos in iMovie.

After discovering the video was monetized, the parents took Crashcarfunny88 to court and the trial is currently underway.
